Roadster Raffle
What? Noble Bob Beatty, takes the lead on this unique fundraiser each year. A vintage car is raffled off to raise money for Kosair Charities and our kids.
When? Friday, November 11, 2011
Who? Anyone who has bought a raffle ticket is invited
Where? Crown Plaza
Why? Beatty, who received a heart transplant several years ago, wanted to take this new life he had been given and really make a difference in the lives of children in need.
How to get involved? Buy a raffle ticket!
 
 
Park Community Federal Credit Union
What? The launch of the new debit card made for Kosair Charities- A $5 fee is applied to the card holder when opening up the account. All fees will be given back to Kosair
When? Tuesday, November 15, 2011
Who?  Everyone is welcomed to this open house
Where?  Park Community Federal Credit Union on Blankenbaker Parkway
History? Park Community and Kosair have partnered to create the first debit card for a charity in this area
How to get involved? Purchase the new Kosair Charities Debit Card for only $5!
 
 
Rock for Kosair
What? Rock Concert that benefits Kosair Charities featuring over 20 local bands
When?  Friday, November 18, 2011
Who?  Must be 21 and up to attend this event
Where?  Phoenix Hill Tavern
History? Since 2005, Eddy Metal and friends have been putting this concert on in order to raise money to buy Christmas gift for Kosair Kids and their families that are struggling during the holiday season
How to get involved? Come out and support Kosair Charities and our kids by attending this great event.

Children’s Holiday Party
What? Holiday Party for Kosair Kids: The children have a chance to see Santa, receive two new gifts, have pizza and enjoy the party! For many children, these may be the only gifts they receive.
When? Sunday December 4th, 2011
Who? Kosair Kids and their families
Where? Crowne Plaza
History? For over 10 years, Kosair Charities and our volunteers have come together to put on this great holiday event for our special needs and under privileged children in our community. Sadly for many of the children who attend this event, these will be the only Christmas presents that they will receive from Santa.
How to get involved? Wrap gifts throughout the year, donate toys and donate bikes

Charity Bowl
What? Bowling Tournament ($15 per person/$60 per team)
When? TBA
Who? Lyndon Area Business Association (LABA) and Prospect Area Chamber of Commerce
Where? TBA
History? LABA and Prospect Chamber joined forces to raise money for Kosair Charities and our kids. This event is a great example of how business relations can benefit Kosair Charities. Kosair Charities holds a board member position on the LABA board.
How to get involved? Help needed to secure teams and auction items as well as work the auction on the day of this event

Greek Week
What? University of Louisville Greeks hold their annual "Greek Week" in March on the university’s campus. Each year the Greeks make one day in this week as Kosair Charities Day. All proceeds from this are given to Kosair Charities and our kids.
When? TBA
Who? University of Louisville Fraternities and Sororities
Where? University of Louisville
History? Kosair Charities and the University of Louisville have had a long standing relationship this is just another example of how a great partnership can result in yet another great event for Kosair Charities and our Kosair Kids.
How to get involved? Spread the word!

Stanley Walker Day/ Concert
What? This Bluegrass Country Concert is held in Grand Rivers Kentucky. Bluegrass artists gather together for a day of great music and entertainment.
When? TBA
Who? Music lovers in the Grand Rivers Kentucky Area
Where? Grand Rivers, KY
History? This event was started three years ago by former Kosair kid and country music legend Stanley Walker. Walker, who is now in his seventies, credits Kosair Crippled Children’s Hospital with saving his life. "This event is a way to give back to the organization that saved my life," walker has said.
How to get involved? Spread the word, come and enjoy the music.

Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame
What? Kentucky’s finest athlete that will be inducted into the KY Athletic Hall of Fame, this event includes induction ceremony, dinner and silent auction. All proceeds from the dinner and silent auction benefit the children of Kosair Charities.
When? Thursday, June 7th, 2012
Who? you can buy tickets or tables at www.kyathletichalloffame.com
Where? Crowne Plaza
History? For over 10 years The KAHF has partnered with Kosair Charities on this event. All proceeds from the banquet are given to Kosair Charities to help support our Kosair kids.
How to get involved? help acquire silent auction items, work the silent auction, attend the dinner.
 
 
Funeral Directors Convention
What? Kosair Charities puts up a booth at the Funeral Directors Convention to hand out envelopes for memorial giving.
When? 3 days (TBA)
Who? Mainly attended by those in the funeral business, but open to everyone
Where? Kentucky International Convention Center
History? This event is not only a great way for Kosair Charities to enhance our presence throughout the state, but also become more familiar with the funeral directors who help spread the Kosair Charities mission and offer support.
How to get involved? work at the booth during one of our 3-4 hour shifts
 
 
Camp Quality Cook Out
What? Cook-out/send off for all of the campers who attend Camp Quality.
When? Sunday, June 30, 2012
Who? Attended by Camp Quality campers, companions, parents, & staff
Where? Kosair Charities Center parking lot
History? Camp Quality Kentuckiana is one of our grant recipients. Camp Quality is weeklong camp for kids who have or are in remission of cancer. Kosair Charities throws a giant cookout complete with a DJ, clowns, and tons of food. This event is a kick off for the kids going to camp.
How to get involved? Help serve food, drinks, work the event.

Softball Tournament
What? Double elimination CO-ED softball tournament & Kids Fair
When? TBA
Who? Everyone is welcome. The kids fair is a wonderful time for kids under 10. If you are interested in playing in this event ($150 per team) please email Andrea Palmer at apalmer08@hotmail.com. For more information visit www.kosairkidstourney.com
Where? Dawley Park in Radcliff, KY
History? The Palmer family started this tournament in 2010 as a thank you to Kosair Charities for taking care of all their daughter Lexi’s medical bills when she was diagnosed with infintale botulism at only 7 weeks old. Lexi is now a healthy and happy 3 year old! The Palmers have raised over $10,000 for Kosair in the past 2 years.
How to get involved? Volunteer your time and help work the event. Enter a softball team to play.

Antique Tractor & Engine Show
What? The Antique Tractor and Engine Show is a fun festival centered around antique Tractors and good old fashioned home cooking. The day includes a Tractor Show, Car show, cook-out, vendor booths, live auction, concert and much more.
When? TBA
Who? Anyone/ Any age can attend this fun event.
Where? Tompkinsville, KY
History? The Antique Tractor and Engine Show is held in Tompkinsville, KY at the farm of Noble Dale and Betty Rich. The Rich family started this event over 10 years ago as a way to give back to Kosair Charities.
How to get involved? Attend this fun event! Spread the word!
 
 
Fat Boy Golf Classic
What? A golf tournament "where a bunch of chubby guys get together to play golf"
When? TBA
Who? everyone is welcomed to play in this tournament ($125 per person)
Where? Woodhaven Country Club
History? Shane Harding started this tournament as a way for him and all of his buddies to get together and play golf. He never imagined that they would end up making money on this tournament, but when he did he called up Kosair Charities and told us that he would like to donate any profit this tournament made to us. The Fat Boy Classic has been bringing in "fat" donations ever since! Shane chose Kosair Charities as his charity of choice because his daughter was a Kosair Kid.
How to get involved? Put a team in this tournament (contact Karen Ernspiker at 637-7696 ext. 108) or come work the registration table or putting contest!
 
 
Kentucky State Fair - KFEC- August 16th-26th
What? 10 day booth for Kosair Charities where we give away beanie babies and collect donations
When? Thursday, August 16- Sunday, August 26th, 2012
Who? Everyone!
Where? KY Fair and Exposition Center- South Wing
History? For years, Kosair Charities has had a presence at the State Fair. This is a great way to spread the Kosair Charities mission to the community.
How to get involved? Take a shift in our booth (3-4 hours)
 
 
Kosair Charities/McDonald’s Golf Classic
What? Golf tournament whose proceeds benefit Kosair Charities & Ronald McDonald House of Kentucky
When? Monday, August 27, 2012
Who? All golfers welcomed ($6,000 per team/$1,500 per player)
Where? Hurstbourne Country Club
History? For the past 16 years Kosair Charities and Ronald McDonald house has partnered for this first class event. To date the event has raised well over a million dollars for both Kosair Charities and Ronald McDonald kids.
How to get involved? Put a team in this tournament, or we are always looking for people to sit on holes, and scorers.

Dreams Take Flight Gala
What? Kosair Charities annual gifts and grants gala. This night includes a cocktail hour, dinner, and presentation of millions of dollars to Kosair Charities supported agencies.
When? September 8, 2012
Who? This event is by invitation only, however corporate tables may be purchased through Vicky Weber at 637-7696.
Where? Galt House Louisville
History? This will be the fourth year for this enhanced event. This event has become Kosair Charities signature event. How to get involved? Mark your calendar and attend this great event.
 
 
O’Charley’s Golf Scramble
What? Golf tournament hosted by local O’Charley’s restaurants
When? TBA (Wednesday)
Who? All golfers welcome
Where? Quail Chase Golf Course
History? This will be the 15 year for this event. This is yet another great example of an excellent partnership between Kosair Charities and O’Charley’s
How to get involved? Take photos at the skirts hole, sit on holes that have games, or play in this tournament
 
 
UPS Golf Outing at Quail Chase
What? 18th annual golf outing put on by UPS for Kosair Charities
When? TBA (Saturday)
Who? All golfers welcomed
Where? Quail Chase Golf Course
History? This will be the 17th year for this event. In 2011, UPS raised over $75,000 for Kosair Charities and our Kosair kids.
How to get involved? Play in this tournament!

St. James Court Art Show
What? Kosair Charities has a booth that sells flower pots painted by local school children and all of the proceeds from this booth come back to help Kosair Kids
When? Friday October 5th - Sunday October 7th, 2012
Who? Everyone!
Where? Corner of St. James and Magnolia
History? Kosair Charities and St. James have been partners for years. In 2012 St. James and Kosair Charities will once again partner together for the St. James Gala. (more information to come).
How to get involved? Work a shift at our booth selling pots and handing out balloons, or just stop by the booth and buy a one of a kind flower pot!
 
 
Kosair Classic at Audubon
What? A golf tournament held to raise money for Kosair Kids
When? Monday, October 15th, 2011
Who? EVERYONE! (Not a golfer?- come to the dinner and silent auction!)
Where? Audubon Country Club
History? This tournament was started in 2006 (then known as Cole’s Classic) by the Herrick Family as a thank you to Kosair for helping pay the medical bills of their son Cole. The tournament consists of a golf, dinner, and HUGE silent auction. As this tournament continued to grow, the Herrick family decided to change the name to Kosair Classic because this tournament helps raise money for all Kosair Kids, not just Cole.
How to get involved? Put a team in this tournament ($1,500 per team/$375 per player), not a golfer? Come to the dinner and silent auction, or volunteer to help with registration.
 
 
Kosair Charities Special Kids Night at the Zoo
What? A night of Trick-or-Treating at the Louisville Zoo for Kosair Kids & our supported agencies.
When? TBA (Wednesday)
Who? by invitation only (1500 Kosair Kids and families)
Where? The Louisville Zoo
History? This will be the seventh year for this family friendly event designed for our Kosair kids and our supported agencies.
How to get involved? Dress in your Halloween best and join in on the fun!

Ongoing Programs

 
Bears on Patrol-Collect and prepare teddy bears for distribution to law enforcement agencies
 
Wrapping Holiday Presents: At our holiday party in December, hundreds of needy and special needs children are provided a holiday experience that they may not otherwise have. In order to make sure that happens over a thousand presents are sorted and wrapped for the children.
 
Combined Federal Campaign-Annual campaign for Government employees to have the opportunity to choose an agency of their choice for donations
 
Kosair Charities Volunteer Project- Many new volunteer opportunities have been created on campus. The expansion of the volunteer center with volunteers on campus three days a week and weekend volunteer opportunities are in the works and are expected to be unveiled and implemented by March.
