REACH OUT FOR KOSAIR KIDS – 2013

On August 3, 2013, Willie 94.1 will team up once again with the Glasgow Shrine Club for our second “Reach Out for Kosair Kids” fundraising event in Cave City.  We will have the same activities free kids’ activities, cornhole tournament, and karaoke contest as last year. However, we will be adding several new activities, such as:

An antique tractor and car show will begin at 9 a.m.

a motorcycle Bug Run will begin at 10 a.m.

 A hole-in-one putting contest.

Kentucky Down Under and Zaxby’s will be returning in 2013.

Radar the Weather Dog from WNKY-TV in Bowling Green will be coming from 11:30 to 1:30 and bringing Jay Brandon and Emily Watson from their weather staff.

We have invited the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile but they have not yet confirmed.

We also plan to give away door prizes every 15 minutes between 9:30a.m. and 3 p.m.

The auction will once again be the anchor activity for the fundraiser. Work has begun on the 2013 “Reach Out for Kosair Kids” quilt and our first donation for this year’s auction is an airplane ride for two originating at the Glasgow Municipal Airport. Since 1969, the Glasgow Shrine Club has donated over $600,000 to Kosair Charities.

HISTORY:  The Glasgow Shrine Club was looking for a new fundraiser and Willie 94.1, a radio station in Glasgow, was looking for a community-action project.  They teamed up for the very first “Reach Out for Kosair Kids” fundraiser event on August 11, 2012, in Cave City, Kentucky.  The event was a major success raising $11,000 in their first year. The intentions were to have as many FREE kids activities as possible with lots of prize giveaways.  The money was raised through the activities for the adults.  The biggest fundraiser activity was the auction at which the “Reach Out for Kosair Kids” quilt was sold for $3,200.  On the quilt was embroidered the names of 65 Kosair kids who had spent at least one night as patients in Kosair Children’s Hospital.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED:  Bring your family and friends and come to Cave City to support Kosair Charities and the Kosair Kids.  If you can’t come, be sure to pass the information along to others.  To stay informed with the activities planned for the day, go to http://www.willie941.com/Reach_Out_4_Kosair_Kids.php or call 270-651-5290.

Fraternally,
