The Nomads Club consists of new Nobles of Kosair Shriners. The
Nomads was created to help acclimate new members to Shrinedom. Every
new Noble automatically becomes a Nomad the day of his ceremonial
induction into Kosair. There are no dues.
We meet on the third Friday of the month in one of the
side dining rooms on the second floor. Presently
they meet with their ladies as an important part of
engaging new Nobles is making their ladies feel welcome.
We plan
our own functions and activities. We also will support
our Shrine circus with their own designated street
solicitation/“roadblock” location.
We elect
our own officers. No one is required to buy a uniform
however shirts will be available to purchase.
The dress
for the meetings is dining room appropriate. Our
meetings will always have at least one guest speaker
from a Shrine club or unit.
The idea is
that too often in the past we bring guys in and then we
“just push them out of the nest.” The
nomads group hopefully will teach them to “fly.” There
is no limit to how long you stay a Nomad.
