On
September 26, 2009, an Annual Celebration
was held for the Nobles and Ladies of Kosair
Shrine, A.A.O.N.M.S. along with our
Potentate, Ill. Sir Randy Coe and his lady,
Christe, and the Elected Divan and their
Ladies (aka "The Annual Potentate's Ball) at
The Galt House Hotel Grand Ballroom in
Louisville, KY. It also was an Historic and
Momentous Event both for Freemasonry and
Shrinedom in Kentucky as we were joined by
special guests from Damascus Shrine Temple
#58 A.E.A.O.N.M.S. PHA, lead by their Ill.
Sir Garvin G. Hinds, Ill Sir Jeffrey Peele
of Tyre Shrine Temple #129 A.E.A.O.N.M.S. PHA and the Most Worshipful PHA Grand Master of Kentucky, Hugh R. Harlan
Jr., as well as our Most Worshipful Grand
Master of Kentucky, Herman M. Forrester.
The Kosair Ball featured fine food and first
class beverages, the wonderful music of
Mid-Life Crisis, the artistry of exotic
dancers, the magical illusions of Patrick
and Janice Miller, fortune tellers, a
comedic tribute to our Potentate, our own
Legion of Honor performing the Arch of
Steel, Noble David Stewart on the bagpipes,
numerous Officers and Nobles from Shrine
Temples across the region, the two Most
Worshipful Grand Masters of Kentucky, Past
Potentates, Past Grand Masters, Grand Lodge
of Kentucky Officers, and very enjoyable
dancing. Illustrious Sir Aubrey Combs was
marvelous as the Master of Ceremonies.
The Cupid Shuffle, Electric Slide and Camel
Walk were favorite line dances. The famous
Camel Walk was a "gentlemen only" activity
enjoyed by nobles and cheered on by the
ladies.
If you missed this ball, you missed a really
good time. Our ball committee did a fine job
putting together a wonderful evening for the
nobles and guests of Kosair Shriners. |
