The History of the Kosair Street Machines Club

The Street Machines Club held it's first meeting on January 12, 2002 and was started with 12 members. 2002 Potentate Gordon Berry presented the Club its charter and approved the by-laws.

Members of the Kosair Shriners Street Machines Club share a love of automobiles. This Club is for any Kosair Noble with a street legal vehicle of ANY type. We meet at the Shrine on the 4th Monday of every month at 7:30 p.m.

Well the end of the year is nearly upon us.  I hope that all who read this is doing well and will have a wonderful Holiday Season.  The Street Machines do not meet in December; our next meeting is scheduled for January 23, 2012.

A milestone was reached in the Glendale Parade.  Aside from the Parade Director, who as pulling the motorized Fez, ALL of the drivers of the show cars representing Kosair were members of The Street Machines.  How about that?

We will be making plans for our annual car show which is scheduled for April 15, 2012 at the Bullitt County Shrine Club.  The show is open to all vehicles new and old.  So, you can start now to polish and shine that favorite ride of yours to get ready.  We will be looking for sponsors of the trophies that will be awarded.

At the October meeting Jim Barr presented the award to Edd Fisher as an honorary lifetime member of the Kosair Street Machines for his dedication to the continuation of the club.  Ed has been a major asset to the club.

In October we had our monthly Drive and Dine to The Overlook in Leavenworth, Indiana.  A group of 14 attended and enjoyed the fall colors with a drive through the Harrison Crawford State County Forest and a fantastic view of the Ohio River. As usual, the food was very good and the companionship even better.

Attending the lunch were from left to right – Ed and Candy Embry, Maxine and Randy Skinner, Billie and Bill Foster, Janice and Marshal Geoghegan, Jim Barr, Pam and Mark Galloway, Adah and Bill Smith and Henry Watson

For those wishing to join our club, we meet on the fourth Monday of the month after the Directors meeting.  Our club is open to any Kosair Noble that has a street legal vehicle.  We do participate in the Kosair Parades as well as our annual Car Show.  If interested contact Edd Fisher, Eddie Hall or any other member.
