The elected heads of the four York Rite Organizations in
Kentucky, Grand Master of the Grand Lodge, Grand High
Priest of the Grand Chapter, Illustrious Grand Master of
the Grand Council, and Grand Commandery would like to
invite you to further your Masonic education in
Freemasonry by participating in a special one day Unity
Class on July 18, 2009.
The committee has planned a conferral of all of the York
Rite degrees and orders between the hours of 8 A.M. and
4 P.M. on that Saturday and a Shrine Ceremonial for all
York Rite members between 4 P.M. and 7 P.M. All ritual
activities will take place at the Scottish Rite Temple
at 200 E. Gray in Louisville. Following the ceremonial,
we will move down the street to 812 South Second, Kosair
Temple, where we will provide a banquet for new members,
cast, and wives. Also planned is a tour of the temple
and formal presentation of fezzes to our new Shriners.
This is your opportunity to become a member of Chapter,
Council and Commandery and the Shrine in one day. The
fee for the entire York Rite will be $100 and this
includes your dues for the balance of the year. The
Shrine fee is an additional $100 and this includes an
embroidered fez, as well as dues. Lunch is provided for
all participants and the evening banquet is free to
participants, their wives or significant others and the
cast.
Active members in the Louisville area have noticed a
decided influx of membership in our symbolic lodges and
many of these new members say they are too busy to
attend our regular week-night conferrals. We usually
spend about 6 months conferring the degrees and orders
of the York Rite. We will present all of the ritual work
during this one-day event and will provide some of the
history and charges of the York Rite in written form
following the Order of the Temple.
This festival is open to all Master Masons in Kentucky
and at the conclusion of the day, you will become a
member of the York Rite nearest your home. All who
complete the York Rite are then eligible for the Shrine
Class, and your membership will be in Kosair.
We believe that the lessons learned in this activity
will add to your Masonic education and benefit you in
your activities as a Freemason. We intend to be present
to greet you personally and take a part in the day’s
activities. |
