The Kosair Directors Staff Unit
Meetings are held on the 1st Thursday each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Ceremonial Director’s Staff room at the Kosair Shrine Center, unless there is a conflicting event (Shrine Circus, Pegasus Parade, etc.)
The Kosair Ceremonial Director’s Staff is one of the oldest and largest uniformed bodies in the Shrine. Known as the “Men in Black” we specialize in putting on the 2nd section of the Ceremonial. Before you become a Kosair Shriner, you will have to travel across our “hot sands” and earn the right to wear the Fez.
Our unit serves the Shrine by participating in the Shrine Circus. You will find our members serving as door monitors, ticket sellers or anywhere else we may be needed at our Circus. Not to mention working hard, all year long, collecting money on the Kosair roadblocks.
The “Shockers Ball” is one of the highlight of the year. This is a dance held by the Director’s Staff in November and is one you don’t want to miss. It is one of the largest and most fun in the Shrine.
Parades, did someone mention parades? We love to parade. You will find us taking part in most public parades around the state. Look for us in our 1962 CJ-5 Willys Jeep, the Crescent and if you are lucky you might even get to ride our Camel.
We are an active unit. When the doors are open at the Kosair Shrine Center, you will usually find a member of the Director’s Staff helping and enjoying brotherhood and fellowship with our Nobles and their Ladies.
